okay so ive been in the l*gan trenches to hear different sides of the discourse about whether or not he cheated on rory after their breakup in “let me hear your balalaikas ringing out.” the consensus i’m hearing is that l*gan didn’t cheat on rory but he did break her trust. im curious to hear from you what you think on the topic!

my take is pretty much that he cheated because rory considered it cheating and that’s absolutely all that matters.

And honestly I’ve been meaning to write it! I even started writing it, but as I went I realized it has the potential to get wayyy out of hand by way of scenes (in that it would become several scenes bc there’s so much to cover) so instead of waiting to be fully finished, I am going to give us all an early sparknotes or summary of events

What I DID write all the way was what might happen when Abram and the prince run into Spear at a ball/event: here.

After all that (the snippet) goes down, Spear is probably very angry. How dare the prince act so ungrateful to his family, how dare he be threatened by the Evermore mutt, and how dare he be publicly embarrassed like that. He’s too proud to even go fume about it on his own. He’s always had people and things to take his anger out on. So he reverts back to what he knows.

No one in the castle stops him on his search of the halls. They all recognize the Spear family - of course the Spears visited often, at least before, and often enough to send their prince to live with them. The twins and anyone else in the know about the prince’s time there are extremely private about it. The staff that see Spear have no reason to think anything of his presence at all.

But Abram is still standing watch at Andrew’s door, and he doesn’t seem about to leave. Spear likely thinks it doesn’t matter much - the brat is small and unassuming except for those nasty scars. Abram even gets distracted by a small crash coming from the direction of the stairs, wandering a little way down to see.

It should have been obvious not to underestimate an official royal bodyguard. Spear hasn’t even touched the door before Abram is there, pinning an arm behind his back as something sharp again presses to Spear’s jacket. The surprise knocks Spear against the prince’s door before Abram pulls him up and back a few steps.

Andrew does answer. Likely he thought it was Abram knocking, but as soon as he sees Spear he freezes. Spear doesn’t even have time to revel in the fear he caused - Abram uses all his weight to swing Spear around and shove him hard against the far wall. What Spear vainly thought was an empty threat before feels suddenly much more real, the way Abram doesn’t try to be at all gentle or careful. The blade is biting into Spear’s clothes.

And Spear is angry. The Evermore filth on him, the gall to treat Spear like this when Spear should be allowed to trample this brat under his horse. The brat thinking he had any say over the Palmetto prince.

He snarls, “Andrew, control your dog!”

And he doesn’t see it, but that snaps a little of Andrew’s panic. The only thing more potent than Andrew’s memories is his white hot anger at Abram’s, and even though Abram doesn’t react, Andrew absolutely refuses to let that slide.

Spear hears, “Dont let him touch you,” and then he’s released. Finally, he can get a little justice for this treatment. He turns and raises a hand to strike Abram.

Abram takes off his hand as he swings.

Andrew gets full oversight on Spear’s punishment. They have him convicted of untoward behavior, trespassing, and then Andrew allows ‘attempted destruction or harm of royal property’ only when he’s told it adds heavy consequence.

Really, it doesn’t matter all that much. Everyone in that room for the proceedings knows why he’s really there, and maybe those three charges wouldn’t always add up to a death sentence, but Aaron has been waiting for this chance. He adds ‘intention of treason’ to the trespassing charge and tells Andrew to do what he will.

Andrew doesn’t let Abram near it when they carry out the sentence. He does go through with some of his plans for Drake - he won’t ever make Drake pay 1:1 for what he’s done, but the magnitude would have been similar, had they gotten that far. They don’t, though. Andrew is doing just fine watching the proceedings, letting it pass through his eyes and ears and only be remembered when he really wanted. He had been sure he wanted this, he’d been sure it would be satisfying and cathartic. But he wasn’t feeling those things as much as he should have been.

Part of the punishment for treason is flogging. Andrew sees the strikes fall and it looks vaguely familiar. He’s seen those wounds and scars before. And suddenly it comes to him all at once; he doesn’t want to be here. He doesn’t want to watch this. He just wants Drake dead. He wants Abram.

So he moves for the first time in several minutes.

“Enough. I’m finished.”

Aaron gives him a look but gestures to the soldiers or whoever else. Andrew stands and goes to leave and there’s a scuffle behind him, yells and pounding feet. Something unsheathed and then a heavy, sickening thud. Maybe even a cut off scream.

Even then he doesn’t turn around. He can’t make himself. Spear had charged him, he understands distantly. He doesn’t know who was just struck, but the only person that should have been so close to him was his brother.

He whispers, “…Aaron?”

“Go, Andrew,” Aaron says quietly, and Andrew finally breathes again. “Abram is waiting.”

So Andrew does go, and he spends a long time holding Abram, assuring himself that Abram is there in one piece and isn’t being harmed, Drake is no longer there and can’t harm anyone else. Maybe this is far enough in that Andrew can even let himself be held, too. So he does find the catharsis and satisfaction, but not in watching Drake suffer. Just in the fact that Abram allows him close enough to hold, to play with his hair, to fall asleep there curled up in the middle of his bed. Unused mattress to every side and no space between them.

I dislike talking abt whether rui is implied gay or not because it feels like provoking two different troupes of angry chimpanzees (& I also don’t care atp who gaf im not arguing over ships of all things) but I will say that it feels a little unfair that people will use minori showing no interest in men as evidence of her lesbianism (valid) but turn around and say rui showing a similar lack of interest in women is meaningless.

i personally cannot wait for s8 to start with an episode that focuses on the new normal under gerrard and on the eddie drama potentially. just for a small (or big?!?) bucktommy hint to be dropped in the middle or end to say that we are SO back!! 😍

Gosh, i am truly excited for whatever they do with the plot and arcs for the characters. It’s 911 so we know what we are in for. I worry about bucktommy for many reasons. I mean, we still have zero confirmation about Lou being back, and I don’t want to get my hopes up by going “when x happens” like certain unhinged fans of a certain fanon ship that shall not be named act. I want it so bad to see buck and tommy navigate through their relationship this season (I’d love to see them on a call together or maybe tommy gets hurt and we see the effect it has on buck), I really do, but unfortunately I will hold on expectations until there’s a undeniable confirmation from the 911 gods.

But we can manifest, besties. I’d love a big or small hint throughout the episode too!

Unpopular opinion but Cassie’s Teen Titans costumes are fine. They’re perfectly serviceable superhero costumes that work for the character in the time period. They frequently suffer from the same thing every female superhero has suffered at one point or another — male artists’ inability to not draw clothes vacuum sealed to her boobs — but when she is drawn with normal proportions her costumes are no more or less revealing than 90% of her previous costumes.

the fact that tumblr showcases your likes on people’s dashboards now is so dark sided. what I like but do not deign to reblog is between me, my self-respect, and god. nobody needs to know what ills and predilections haunt my every tag search. the eldritchian horror of my hyperfixations is a cross i must bear alone. but, the inner mechanisms of my mind cannot remain an enigma if the dashboard keeps broadcasting the latest fancam i liked about my middle-aged babygirl.

I like to say I’m okay with my interests having very small/pretty non existent fandoms because that means no stupid drama even if I wish the things I liked were more acknowledged, it’s better to take them in a vacuum then mainstream cause some of the stuff I like if it got bigger would be more mixed, possibly even controversial-

and I still stay true to that but I also remember how my interests could’ve been decently popular yet all of them got screwed over in some fucking capacity somehow regardless if that was intentional or not and I low key get a little mad.

LIKE JUST AS A POINT OF REFERENCE (I’m listing these all in chronological release order):

Big O: flopped in Japan but when it was brought over to the states it apparently did well enough to get a season 2, but cn were fucking stupid and aired the second season on adult swim rather then its original home network toonami, which is likely why it fell into obscurity when it could’ve been up there with other old animes if people saw the entire thing because a lot of anime popular from toonami are remembered

Kikaiders anime: Was like only popular in Hawaii but the anime was dubbed and aired on adult swim- only problem is they gave it a 12:30 am time slot and even if it first aired in summer a lot of people probably skipped out on it- also I have a hunch that even tho big o on adult swim definitely got less traction it and kikaider afaik aired around the same time, and big o time slot came first. People if they did know big o got moved probably only watched adult swim for that then shut off the tv for kikaider, which further shows putting big o on adult swim was not a good idea. (Oh and the fact this was a anime reboot for a toku even if it was somewhat more accurate to the manga probably didn’t help the reception in Japan, next to how little interest there seemed to be for it given it was so short)

Shin Jeeg: Literally flopped so hard in Japan that it wasn’t even considered getting a dub besides Thailand and Italy, Italy being the only place Jeeg is fucking remembered. It’s no wonder this one probably the most forgotten among my interests despite being a dynapro mech and a reboot directed by fuckinv Kawagoe.

Casshern Sins: I have zero clue what japans reception of it was but probably not high when it’s “an edgy reboot”. As for the west it did got aired on toonami and is LITERALLY the only anime I like that is legally watchable on crunchyroll but it became forgotten cause it aired on toonami when people stopped caring for it, and crunchyroll only tends to show what’s popular so you’d only find this show from really digging.

Getter the only thing I’m not listing here next to it’s still decently remembered-big o is too, but at the same time it goes under a lot of mecha fans radars-but also cause I’m perfectly accepting of “the times it aired on tv it was super old and only part of it got dubbed, then the rest of it were ovas before not getting anime content for fucking years” like that’s a fair reason to be forgotten- but everything else just feels like I’m cursed 💀 (and I wonder how the cycle will continue when I gain yet another old anime robot interest because it will happen- eventually)

I am literally watching in real time yall Taylor swift that fucking channel rook chick into a lasting famous career highly undeserved like the Kanye moment at the 09 vmas did for her. The way yall try to revisionist history Miley getting called out by Nicki Minaj like Miley was being hella racist and appropriative during that time, THUS why Nicki called her out, but yall wanna defend her like she was baby just minding her business when a mean evil old ass black woman embarrassed her wah wah. Like Miley isn’t a nepo baby who would and was good after that.

This situation would have blown over next week, but here comes everyone running to defend the poor white female stuck in a well she climbed in, and the whole world gotta stop to lament on how we are just expecting too much for her to be mindful of not repeating stupid hyper online takes. But more annoying is this behavior means now if she does do anything truly worth criticizing, we can’t because yall will write it off as ppl just hating on a successful woman. And the fans get more fanatical in her defense, and then we’re stuck with her for 15 years where she’ll release her own uninspired version of the tortured poets and yall will try to gaslight us into pretending it’s great (like yall already are about that boring attempt at art).

Like yall are so annoying with this shit. Imagine if yall cared half as much about defending black women and supporting black female artists as yall do these mediocre white acts who will continue to be fine thanks to the monster machine of the white supremacist media that loved (and had been itching for) a new white girl to obsess over.
